Mission, Values, & Board
Our Mission
Jersey City Pride is a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to formally steward, strengthen, and expand LGBTQ+ Pride programming in Jersey City. Through inclusive events, cultural programming, and community engagement, we promote visibility, equity, and belonging for LGBTQ+ people of all ages and backgrounds.
Our flagship program is the Jersey City Pride Festival, now in its 26th year, which builds on a legacy that began in 2001 and brings together tens of thousands of residents, visitors, artists, and community partners each summer in celebration of LGBTQ+ visibility, culture, and pride.
Our Vision & Values
We envision a Jersey City where LGBTQ+ people are fully seen, respected, and empowered to thrive. Our work is guided by the following values:
-
Visibility – Honoring LGBTQ+ identities, stories, and history through public celebration and year-round programming
-
Inclusion – Creating welcoming, accessible spaces across identities, generations, and lived experiences
-
Community – Strengthening connection through collaboration and civic pride
-
Equity – Advancing fairness, representation, and opportunity
-
Pride – Celebrating authenticity, resilience, and joy
Rooted in more than two decades of Pride in Jersey City, Jersey City Pride continues to build meaningful experiences that bring people together and inspire lasting community impact.
